Market Harborough Fixers
15 December 2021
Market Harborough Fixers assist in the repair of any small items e.g, electrical, clothing, toys, jewellery, anything household or hand held basically but they also try to help teach & encourage people to learn to repair , reuse & recycle.
Their ethos is we can all get something repaired saving waste & possibly save a few ££££ too, having the added bonus of not having local waste going into landfill & related CO2 emissions.
The Fixers Cafe is stationed in their new Repair Cabin situated at the Ecovillage and everyone is invited. You can pop in for a chat or join their facebook group & message them.
They are always in need of new volunteers particularly for electrical or electronic repairs , but other general skills & admin are always welcome too.
We caught up with Steve Cousens who is the Chairman and driving force behind the Fixers and asked him about about signing up with the Harborough Lotto:
How did you hear about the lottery and what made you decide to join?
I heard about the Harborough Lotto at a council meeting where we were given a roundtable explanation of what the lottery promotes
Is there a particular project or service you are hoping to raise funds for?
We are raising funds for a new floor covering for our Repair Cabin where we run weekly events on Saturdays between 10am - 1pm
